Please Note : The little granules that sometimes happen are perfectly natural and normal, and doesn’t mean that your product has gone bad or that something’s wrong with it. This is a common occurrence with natural, unrefined Shea butter, and sometimes, cocoa butter. Shea butter is made of several different types of fat. When temperatures change, the Shea melts, and then the like-fats all congregate and hang out together by the chip bowl. When the butter cools again, they crystallize, or harden, at different speeds, causing little granules to form. The more the butter melts and re-hardens, the more granules you get. Keep in mind that Shea butter melts at the same temperature as human skin (one reason why we love it so much), which also means that sunshine, travel, humidity, sitting close to a heater, or being in a hot bathroom can all cause fluctuations in the texture of the balm.

The Natural Ingredients I'm made from
Made from Organic Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Kawakawa, Organic Lemongrass, Rosemary, Citronella, Cedarwood, Tea Tree Essential Oil.
Why I’m Great
Natural bug repellents are not going to be 100% bug-proof, nor are they going to last all day. Rather than spraying yourself once with a commercial DEET-based repellent, you may need to reapply the repellent, depending on how much time you spend outside and how many pests you have in your vicinity. The benefit is that you will avoid exposing your skin and respiratory system to harsh toxic chemicals that could harm your body. You also gain the benefit of smelling fresh and herbacious, rather than smelling like bug spray all day. Kawakawa and Shea Butter help heal the skin and keep it soft and moisturised at the same time.

A soothing & natural healing ointment for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, nappy rash, sunburn, dry & cracked skin, scratches, cuts, chafing, scar tissue & inflamed skin.
The Natural Ingredients I'm made from
Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Beeswax, Manuka Honey, Calendula, Chamomile, Kawakawa and Vitamin E.
Why I’m Great
Kawakawa (Macropiper excelsum) is native to NZ and used widely in Rongoa (Maori traditional medicine). Kawakawa contains healing & soothing analgesic properties for skin. Well known in New Zealand as a medicinal plant, for its ability to assist in healing numerous skin conditions and irritations.
Manuka Honey (Leptospermum scoparium)
Full of vitamins, amino acids & minerals and is naturally anti-microbial; promoting healing & repairing cell damage.NZ Beeswax (Cera Alba)
Known to act as a natural skin barrier to lock in moisture, foster cells & protect skin from damaging environmental factors. Alike to Manuka honey, beeswax has antibacterial properties, helping keep skin clean and reducing the risks of contamination in the formula itself and also found to help encourage the healing of wounds.
NZ Calendula (Calendula officinalis)
Soothes & hydrates inflamed & infected skin. This oil when distilled is a powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial agent, and antiseptic. One of the complex characteristics of calendula oil is a compound called triterpenoid. Used topically to relieve dermatitis, eczema, rashes, and irritated dry skin.NZ Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)
Chamomile is antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. It is also considered to be hypoallergenic with the ability to neutralise skin irritants.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera)
Coconut oil contains medium chain fatty acids which are absorbed into the skin. This provides all the energy your skin needs to heal and maintain itself. Our bodies need adequate amounts of antioxidants. Coconut oil contains two anti-oxidants: ferulic acid and p-coumaric acid.Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can penetrate through layers of skin, assisting the body with the natural wound healing process. Vitamin E lubricates the skin and forms a protective layer that serves to keep free radicals away from wounds. Vitamin E also promotes collagen in the skin.
What People are saying about me
Just wanted to say thank you! Just got the Manuka honey and kawakawa balm. My cracks on my hand have healed over night! And all the weeping and oozing has stopped! I applied 3 times yesterday and it's already a significant difference today! Think the kawakawa might be my new favourite thing! Thank you so much. - Siobhan

This is a homemade sun protection product that also nourishes the skin.
Directions for Use
At first, it will go on white, but once you rub it in and head into the sun it will melt onto your skin, feel nourishing (as it is!), and will not appear white. Please, apply a generous amount of sunscreen. You WILL look white at first. Then, keep rubbing and it will dissolve into your skin.
The Natural Ingredients I'm made from
Organic Coconut Oil, Apricot Oil, Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Non-Nano Zinc Oxide and Vitamin E
Why I’m Great
Just like other sunscreens, you should reapply this at least every hour. I add beeswax to this recipe, which helps it stay on in the water, but like many other sunscreens, it will come off with water play (and excessive sweating). For me, reapplying often is a small price to pay to decrease my toxic load.
Also, this sunscreen will ‘set up’ when in cold temperatures and will ‘melt down’ (some) when really hot. None of this affects the function of the sunscreen, at all. If it gets cold and solidifies, put it somewhere warm and vice versa.
How long will this last?
Great question. The Vitamin E gives it pretty good stability, in terms of preservative action. That said, you don’t want to put dirty fingers into your container, which will invite bacteria.
This will last anywhere from 6 months to over a year (or more). I store mine in a dark, cool closet. Also, you can place it in your fridge for even longer keep. Yes, it will ‘set up’, but will ‘thin out’ when you remove it. You’ll know it has gone bad by a funky smell.
***Mineral sunscreens are different than other typical, toxic sunscreens on the market today. This recipe does not contain toxic ingredients that soak into your skin and provide ‘water proofing’. Mineral sunscreens like this do not penetrate your skin. They sit on top of your skin and reflect the sun’s rays. This means that you HAVE to reapply (generously) often.
